Muscle memory allows you to get comfortable to chords and be able to smoothly. Some Toronto guitar teachers rarely focus on the importance of arching your fingers when playing chords but its vital. You can build muscle memory by forming the chord and then lifting your fingers off and putting them back on as demonstrated on my guitar lesson video for chords.
